Digital Camera Classes
Want to know how to use your digital camera? The staff at Croydon Camera House wants you to get the best out of your camera, so they’re offering a range of classes to help you along. The classes are conducted in the store at 125 Main Street, Croydon on Tuesday evenings.

Digital Compact:
In this class, you will learn the functions of your camera to be able to get the most out of what you have. This includes understanding resolution, shutter speeds and apertures, scene modes, flash and much more! The class runs for two and a half hours from 7pm
The cost of the course is $110, however, a discounted cost of $65 applies if the camera is/was purchased from Croydon Camera House.
D-SLR:
The D-SLR class is for anyone who has a Digital SLR. The digital SLR class runs through everything from shutter speeds and apertures, lenses, flash photography, file types, drive modes and much more! This class is suited to those who have never even turned on their new camera to those who are just after more knowledge on getting the most out of their camera. The Digital SLR class runs for three hours from 7pm on two consecutive Tuesdays.
The cost of the two sessions 3 hour course is $150, however, a discounted cost of $95 applies if the camera is/was purchased from Croydon Camera House.
Studio workshop:
Our cosy Studio Lighting Workshop will introduce you to the wonders of creating your own light.
The course commences at 10am with an insight into various lighting combinations, from using a single monobloc to multiple units lighting both the subject and the background. It also includes the operation of light meters, use of reflectors and how to direct a model
We will explore the many possibilities that studio lighting has to offer, as you learn to take full control. There will be a short explanation of 'off camera' flash techniques using remote radio triggers.
After a short lunch break at midday, we will resume with a few hours of practical shooting using a model, followed by an hour of play and experimentation. Photography should be fun and playing with light is an important ingredient in obtaining something out of the ordinary. The course is set to finish around 4pm after which a brief discussion of the knowledge you have gained from working in a real life studio!
